The upholstery of your table is much more than a simple detail: it is the first impression your patients get when they enter your workspace. A clean and well-maintained table, in addition to conveying confidence and professionalism, will also make your patients feel more comfortable. In addition, proper maintenance not only ensures its good appearance, but also prolongs its useful life, which translates into a lower investment in the long run.

But, do you know how to take care of it properly? In this article, we share with you the best tips to keep your table looking like new, take note and put them into practice!

1. Daily cleaning to avoid accumulations

Your day-to-day work can leave traces of oils, creams or even dust on the upholstery. To keep it clean:

  • Wipe with a damp white cloth at the end of each day. This is sufficient to remove surface dirt.
  • If you need something else, use a soft sponge with water and a few drops of neutral soap. Remember to dry completely afterwards with a clean cloth.
  • Never use products containing alcohol, solvents or bleach. These chemicals can damage the material and wear away the leatherette’s protective coating.

2. Acts fast on stains

We know the unexpected happens. If your upholstery gets stained, the key is not to let it go too long without cleaning:

  • Clean the affected area immediately with soapy water and a soft sponge.
  • Do not use stain removers or aggressive products without first testing them on an inconspicuous area. It is better to be safe than sorry.

3. Protect the most exposed areas

Some areas of the table, such as the facial area or those with greater contact, tend to wear faster:

  • Use disposable towels or protective covers, especially if you use oils or creams during treatments. At Ecopostural we have a towel that includes a tear-shaped hole (ref. A4459), and also with a special foot protector for gynecology chairs and tables (ref. A4458).
  • Be especially careful with dark-colored clothing, as their dyes may transfer to the upholstery, especially if it is light-colored.

4. Prevents damage due to extreme temperatures

Intense heat and direct sun exposure can also deteriorate the upholstery over time. If your table is collapsible or you store it when not in use:

  • Store in a dry place, away from moisture and protected from direct sunlight.
  • Keep the table in an environment with moderate temperatures.

5. Make periodic revisions

Take a few minutes each month to check the condition of the upholstery. If you notice any damage, such as damaged seams or more worn areas, consider repairing it before the problem worsens.

Taking care of the upholstery of your table is not only a matter of aesthetics, it is also a way to take care of your professional image and offer the best experience to your patients. With these small gestures, your table will always be ready for any session.
